Princess Grace of Monaco visits the Springs Industries Executive Offices on July 20, 1979. The former Academy Award-winning actress Grace Kelly traveled to Fort Mill to promote a line of Springs products designed on the basis of flower collages she created. She was accompanied on the trip by her husband, Prince Rainier, below. With the princess in the photo at left is the late W.H. Close, who was chairman of the Springs board. This was three years before the princess' untimely death after an auto accident in September 1982.
